Group Lessons – LTS & Aspire Fall 2024 Classes (Oct – Dec)

Learn to Skate (LTS)

Learn to Skate (LTS) group lessons for levels Snowplow Sam (preschool ages), Basic 1-4, Hockey Skills 1-2, 3-4 and Adults will be held on Monday nights starting October 14, 2024 from 6:30-7:15pm and ending on December 2, 2024 for 8 class times total. Class time includes 30min of instruction and 15min of practice ice.
MONDAYS, 6:30pm – 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 11/25, 12/2 

LTS group lessons for Basic 5 (LTS Only* (not Aspire)) will also be held on Monday nights but starting at 7:00pm. Class time includes 15min of practice ice and 30min of instruction ending at 7:45pm.
MONDAYS (Basic 5 LTS Only*), 7:00pm – 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 11/25, 12/2

*NOTE Re: Basic 5 LTS Only – This is an LTS only Basic 5 class for younger skaters or those not quite ready for the additional Aspire programming. If you want to register for Basic 5 Aspire with the additional ice time and skating nights, please review the information below and register under Aspire on the registration page.

Aspire

Aspire group lessons for levels Basic 5-6, PreFreeskate, and Freeskate 1-6 will be held on Sunday AND Monday nights. Sundays start October 13, 2024 from 6:15-7:15pm and end on December 22, 2024 for 11 weeks total (Note: class time from 11/10-12/1 will run 30min only from 6:45-7:15pm, Holiday Exhibition on 12/8). Mondays start October 14, 2024 from 7:00-7:45pm and end on December 2, 2024 for 8 class times total. Class time on Monday night includes 15 min of practice ice and 30min of instruction. NOTE registration also includes an Aspire group number in the Holiday Exhibition held Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 6:30pm.  Off-Ice classes (if any) are TBD.
Your registration includes the entire schedule below:
SUNDAYS, 6:15pm (60min) – 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/3; SUNDAYS, 6:45pm (30min) – 11/10, 11/17, 11/24, 12/1; SUNDAY Holiday Exhibition – 12/8*; and SUNDAYS, 6:15pm (60min) – 12/15, 12/22 This class day will be focusing on figure skating disciplines including power, edges, jumps, spins and skills that go into creating small group routines for the Holiday Exhibition. *SAVE THE DATE, YOUR REGISTRATION INCLUDES A NUMBER IN THE HOLIDAY EXHIBITION (Practice time for that day TBD, show starts at 6:30pm)
MONDAYS, 7:00pm – 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 11/25, 12/2 This class day will consist of 15 minutes of practice ice and 30 minutes of LTS class level instruction.
TBD: OFF ICE training (if any, dependent on space needs/availability).

The Aspire program is a packaged deal to help skaters who have completed the beginning LTS levels make the change from skater to figure skater with additional ice time and programming.  Programming includes: weekly Learn to Skate USA (LTS) class level instruction; weekly curriculum covering edges, jumps, spins, Skating Skills, Artistry in Motion, Theater on Ice, Synchro; and TBD Off Ice curriculum (pending space needs). Axel Club (NEW!)

Axel Club, new this session, is for skaters who have passed Freeskate 6 or are at a USFS level that is working on a single axel. Axel Club will be held on Monday nights starting October 14, 2024 from 7:00-7:45pm and ending on December 2, 2024 for 8 class times total. Class time includes 15 min of practice ice and 30min of instruction. See specific schedule below. Axel Club members can also register for the Sunday Aspire Class – see Private Ice for registration.

Finally, note that the AFSC does hold fundraising events throughout the year and expects club members to volunteer/fundraise.  Further details about volunteering/fundraising opportunities this season to come.  Thank you and we will see you at the rink!
